Terms of Service

§1 Acceptance

By accessing orlixai.xyz or using the Orlix software ("Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

⚠ Beta software Orlix is currently in early access / beta. Features may change, break, or be removed without prior notice. Use in production environments is at your own risk.

§2 Description of service

Orlix is a local-first governance layer for personal AI — a software system that runs on your device and optionally interfaces with third-party AI model providers you configure. We provide the software and this website. We do not operate the AI models themselves.

§3 Permitted use

You may use Orlix for lawful personal and commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from distributed binaries
  • Use Orlix to automate actions that violate the terms of third-party services you connect
  • Distribute or resell access to the Service during the beta period without written consent
  • Use the Service to process data you are not authorized to handle

§4 Your data

All data processed locally by Orlix — including your memory, policies, goals, and action receipts — belongs to you. We claim no rights over it. See our Privacy Policy for details on what minimal data we do collect.

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your local Orlix data. We are not liable for data loss resulting from software bugs, hardware failure, or user error.

§5 Third-party integrations

Orlix may connect to external AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) and other services you configure. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the output, conduct, or policies of third-party providers.

When Orlix sends data to an external model, it does so at your direction, according to the authority tier and policy you have configured. You bear responsibility for what you authorize Orlix to share.

§6 Intellectual property

The Orlix name, logo, website content, and distributed software are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

Any feedback, suggestions, or bug reports you submit may be used by us to improve the Service without obligation or compensation to you.

§7 Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce accurate results. Use of autonomous AI features carries inherent risk — configure authority tiers accordingly.

§8 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including losses caused by autonomous actions Orlix takes within permissions you granted.

§9 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to early access members and reflected in the version number above. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
